Gabriel Di Lavello holds a Master's degree in Electrical Systems Management, a Postgraduate degree in Electrical Power Systems Transmission and a undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Uruguay’s national university (Udelar). He has made key contributions in the development of Automatic Generation Control (AGC) in Uruguay, and currently in the development, management and planning of the training system for power grid operators (OTS). In 2020, he obtained the 1st prize at the National Academy of Engineering for his Master's thesis on "AGC and its implementation in Uruguay". He works in the main grid operation and dispatch center of Uruguay (DCU-UTE), at the Operation unit, in charge of the pre-operation and real-time operation of networks and energy. Real-time operation is highly critical since it involves carrying out the main processes that aim to ensure supply of demand (SIN Operation and Energy Management). For each foreseen or unforeseen situation, there must be a response that provides the Electrical System in accordance with current safety, quality and economy criteria.
